MEET SCOTT B. ROSS, D.D.S.

SCOTT B. ROSS, D.D.S.

Scott B. Ross has been providing periodontal and dental implant care in South Florida for over 30 years, earning his reputation as a leader and innovator in these fields.  After graduating top of his class at the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry, earning his DDS degree, he completed a General Practice Residency at Long Island Jewish-Queens Hospital.  Dr. Ross completed specialty training in the field of Periodontics at the Medical College of Virginia, further enhancing his surgical expertise. A pioneer of implant surgery and dentistry, Dr. Ross has remained at the forefront of his field since dental implants first emerged. He continues to involve himself with research, education, and advanced surgical and restorative techniques to provide optimal results for all patients, as well as to better these fields for colleagues around the world.

Dr. Scott Ross has been integral in the growth and development of the local dental community in Miami. He has served as president of several local dental societies, Chairman of General Practice Residency at Miami Children’s Hospital and founded the Alumni Association for the Medical College of Virginia Department of Periodontics. He is a member of the American Academy of Periodontics, Academy of Osseointegration, International Society of Periodontal Plastic Surgeons, American Dental Association, International Team for Implantology, Florida Dental Association, and the Florida Association of Periodontics. Currently, he serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at NOVA Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine in the Department of Periodontics Residency Program.  Additionally, Dr. Ross shares his knowledge and 30 plus years’ experience with periodontal, prosthodontic and general practice residencies throughout the country as a visiting professor and mentor.

One of Dr. Ross’ true passions is teaching and giving back to the profession he so dearly loves.  He has been an associate clinical professor in the Department of Periodontics at NOVA Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine for over 15 years.  This position in academia keeps him actively involved in research and any advancements made in the fields of periodontics, implant dentistry, and dental technology.  Dr. Ross still helps his current and past residents with cases, treatment planning, and all aspects of dental surgery as a mentor and a colleague.

Dr. Ross actively gives back to the dental community, lecturing at dental clubs, societies, and universities locally and nation-wide.  He has had multiple research articles published in dental journals, both clinical and research related.  Presently, he is involved in several ongoing periodontal and dental implant studies, as well as studies on soft tissue grafting techniques in periodontics, to be published soon in international dental journals.  Along with Dr. Bradley Ross, he runs a dental study club sponsored by the International Team for Implantology for local dentists and as well as a dental hygiene study club to help educate local hygienists. Through this, with a large group of his colleagues, he continues to learn and improve the quality of care that the dental community can provide to all the patients locally and afar.

Dr. Ross grew up on Miami Beach and has spent his life in Miami. He and his wife, Gerry, are happily married and together have 2 sons, Bradley and Greg.  He is honored to work alongside Bradley, who followed in his footsteps to become a Periodontist, and Greg who is an extremely gifted Orthodontist.  Dr. Scott Ross has the privilege of sharing both his work and life with his family.
